My RBG journey!

Nidhi Bisht: A sensational legend that inhabited this planet earth!

Well, this is just one of the ways I’d want to be noted on Wikipedia as. Since childhood, I wanted to get the limelight and become famous, that people know me, respect me….blah blah blah!

Sorry, I do get carried away at times! ;-)

I am here to share with ya’ll my RBG experience. Whoa! Here it goes….

7th June was the day when I was busy shooting my Broom Vroom task and so was the deadline of submission! I was busy editing till midnight and was getting desperate so much so that I’d have sent the video with the ‘trial version’ watermark of the ripping software I was using. That’s when I got to know that God has been graceful (or at least Webbie has been) to extend deadline by a week.

18th June was the day when I was flying high as I got shortlisted in top 100. Somehow, this feeling was then never beaten by any further shortlisting.

30th June – I was trying hard not to get any work from my Boss on this day as my mind, heart and everything else was waiting for the announcement of the 13 warriors. And, so it came and I was delighted to have made it.

Right from that moment, came in my life a phase which was so new! Gtalk, Y! Messenger, Orkut friend request approvals, exchanging phone numbers etc became the way of life for several days. Then, I got the offer to become part of a team, and I realised it was a good move as a self defence mechanism. Many rumours were flying around that I’m leading a “Delhi” team with Mohit Kochar, Poornima and others.  And, then came the conspiracy theory that I am the mastermind of a group. Well, nothing of that sort ever happened!

The first vote-out made me realise – It is ON! I’m on the show! I’m in public now!

The 2nd vote out was talked about a lot, when Gaurav and Chethan got voted-out. Gaurav left very negative remarks for me, saying I backstabbed him! I never came out to clarify even! Well, I didn’t backstab him, I told him clearly after he voted against me in the vote-out #1.

I actually never approached any other warrior for teaming up or anything of that sort. Though, I soon realised that telling a lie and saying things like – “I’ll never vote you out” are what everybody does and is a basic necessity in the remain in the game.

Shikha, after the 3rd vote-out, said several things and told me that I’ll be out soon! I couldn’t understand why everyone always thought I’m ‘leading’ the team.

Anyhow, by this time, I was having a ball with the kind of routine RBG had brought me into – conceptualising an idea for the task till late night, detailing and shot description in CCD the next day, shooting in the evening the same day or early morning the next day…..and then the tirelessly editing all night and all day to just make it in time for submission. Well, how simple it’d have been if story ended there ;) Then, get to work to get votes – sending e-mails, sms, phone calls etc…..and soon after closing, deciding on the vote outs…..and the cycle continued for more than 3 weeks!

And, low and behold, I sort of became popular and so did our team……so much so that even MTV targeted us.

Well, all good things come to an end, or at least a halt, if I may say so J But, what really made me upset was how things turned into shape. I couldn’t take it that some people can be so mean and cheap. And, I am not at all saying Mohit shouldn’t have voted against me. If that is what he thought he should do, he should have been man enough to tell me clearly.

A blog on my RBG experience would be incomplete without a mention of MTV (of course!). Most of the tasks seemed to be like a dream come true for me. I always wanted to be a TV reporter, a superhero, a dancer, singer and so on….and I got an opportunity to do all this in my tasks. Thanks, MTV! What I also got was the admiration from so many people on the orkut community and outside. This is very important for a person like me to know that people like your effort and they appreciate it. What else could a legend ask for, eh? ;-)

I must thank all the community members who supported me and appreciated my efforts, and specially Ritesh, Reshu, Ananvay, Venus, Zeeshan and I Love My Family (Sorry! I never got to know your real name J).

I really owe a big time to all my friends who were always there with me for each and every task of mine. If I could pull off some great videos and that too in such short period of time, its because of all these friends! Love you all!

TO end this short story, I’d like to dedicate few words to all the warriors I find worth mentioning. So, starting with Prachi:

Prachi – I never knew we could become such good friends! I’m glad we met at this forum.

Chethan – You are a star! Very mature and sorted in your head.

Gaurav – A person who would go around blaming the world if he’s hurt, and would find a million reasons if he hurts someone else. Look in the mirror!

Sammy – I agree with everyone else. Ek no. ka h****i hai.

Shikha – From her video profile to the item number task, she proved that I was right about her. Girl – RBG is not for you, go cheer-leading!

Yashita – Didn’t interact much with you. I don’t know why she thinks she’s MTV’s daughter-in-law! We are of different leagues, so no further comments.

Shuchi – Your item number task changed my perception for you. Don’t try to be Yashita (lol).
Poornima – She’s a nice girl. Its just that the circumstances didn’t lead us becoming good friends, otherwise we could have gone far, together!

Eric – He was a strong pillar of the Fantastic Four! A very smart player too. I’m not sure, but somewhere in my mind, I feel he had a role to play in my vote out.

Vaibhav – One of the two persons who are very good friends of mine through RBG. Right from the audition task, I knew he has his class and our frequencies match. Thanks Vaibhav for being there.

Now, last and definitely the least…….

Mohit – He played so innocent and friendly, and called me several times to seek help on tasks. Then he decided to backstab me! Even after the vote-out, he didn’t have the balls to tell me that he has betrayed us. I call him up to say thanks for voting me out, and he cunningly says “you are most welcome”. Well, dude, I’ll give you the closure at the right time.

RBG is indeed the beginning I was looking for and I am content with what I got here. Dare I say that it is over, but now that I’m not busy with doing the tasks, I would spend some time reading the Constitution of India.

Watch out the space!
